My arm is broke!!!

Poor little Greyson! Our little buddy had an accident while dad was putting him in his car seat at pick up from day care. Greyson wasn't fully  buckled in and sat forward, tipping his carseat forward and off the edge of the little table it was on. He fell forward onto the ground, bringing the car seat with him. We felt horrible!!! He fractured both radius and ulna, but the doctor is hopeful that it will heal up just fine despite the break going to the growth plate. Oh man, Greyson, we are so so sorry. Daddy feels awful. But you are such a little trooper. You've been happy and active, even using that arm before we knew it was broken. It should take three weeks to heal, so he has to stay in the cast that long and hopefully not learn to swing it around like a weapon. Watch out Ellie!!!

He did it for reals today!!

Greyson officially walked today, on his cousin Kallan's birthday (Kallan turned 9). Many big steps in a row. He was so excited. Now it could have been the help of the steroids he got from today's doctors visit but whatever. It counts!!! That means both twins are walking right before turning 1!!! Go twin let's!!

Daycare and illness

Well we have been going to daycare for a month now and for the most part it's been great. Today was the first day Grey didn't cry when I handed him over to the teacher. But now Ellie has started to cry when I drop her off. They do great if I put them straight into their breakfast seats but if I feed them at home and pass them to the teacher, that's when the crying happens. The biggest thing is the sickness. I have been to the doctor 3 times so far for high fever and congestion. From not being sick a day in their life to what feels like constant illness is tough to take. Grey was do congested he couldn't suck his bottle. Poor baby. We have been using the nose frida on them both multiple times a day to get the snot out. I thought about putting a picture of all the snot from the nose frida because it is quite impressive but then I thought better of it. Instead here is just a picture of the device. It's been a lifesaver!!

Grey takes his first steps!

Well I think Grey is watching his sister and deciding to give it a go. He walked 5 steps yesterday. The first couple small and tentative. Then I reach out my arms to him and he lunges forward with an open mouthed happy face. So the last few steps are just the momentum carrying him forward but I'll take it. At this point Ellie is walking all over the place, turning directions and getting the awkward zombie wobble out. We are so proud of these little guys! Next week they turn 1.

Ellie is officially taking her first steps! On daddy's birthday!! Not just 1 tentative step, but several in a row. She is so proud of herself and is smiling and giggling as she does it. Go Ellie! Who would have thought you would walk before Grey Grey??!!

Ellie has taken to hugging anything soft... her musical puppy, teddy bears, lion puppet, pillows. It is pretty darn cute!!!

Ellie took her first step today unassisted! What a surprise! We all thought it would be Grey since he started crawling and pulling up first. But over the last month Ellie has made huge strides from crawling to standing and then today her first step!! Go Ellie!!

Hi mom! Guess what happens next?

Day care

This week we said goodbye to our nanny Alex and hello to Gonzales day care. Of course mommy has been worried and anxious. What will this do to their napping schedule? What will this do to their eating because they aren't the easiest feeders? Will they be happy? Did we make the right choice? I brought them in for an hour each day to try to get them used to it. It started off great but on Friday when I went to pick them up Ellie was in years. I think she was super tired because she is used to taking 2 naps a day instead of 1. Will the daycare be able to accommodate their schedules?? I guess it's normal to feel nervous. And everything is going to be hard at first during transition times. I just have to be a little patient and give it a chance.

We love the water!!

Twinlets had their first pool party over Memorial Day and LOVED it!!! They started off in the floaters then advanced to just freestyle splashing which was Ellie's favorite. She wouldn't stop splashing! Grey loved playing and trying to swim. We can't wait to do it again. But the next day both babies got a fever and were sick for the first time. We hope it wasn't from the pool time.

It has happened twice now. Once with Mark putting Greyson in the jumperoo and once with the nanny doing it. At first I thought Mark just didn't put Grey in correctly. But when it happened with the nanny I knew it wasn't a fluke. Both times it was not witnessed. We have no idea how it happens. Which leads us to believe Grey Grey is hiding baby JackJack superpowers from us.

He escaped the jumperoo silently, and was found crawling around like nothing happened. In the space of ... Oh... Less than 2 minutes?

It's hot in May!!

Swing time today had few participants as it was in the upper 80's! Yikes it promises to be a tough summer.  Ellie needed a hat.  In other unrelated news, Grey Grey sits Indian style.

First movie night!!

Had a great weekend at Monique and Phong's for movie night in their awesome media room.  Ellie had a tough time going to bed because she was so excited to be there and see Maddie and Emmie. Grey did great and somehow fell asleep amid Ellie's crying. We watched Silver Linings Playbook which was ok. Was just great to watch a movie and hang with dear friends. 

9 Months!

The twins 9 month check up went well! Both are growing so big and looking good!

Discovery Green!

We took the twins to Discovery Green to enjoy the beautiful weather. They met a one year old and got to dodge an errant frisbee thrown by two of the worst frisbee throwers I have ever witnessed!
